The VAN D store redefines the a-typical sterile retail experience and transports you to a realm of retro-vintage relaxation in the Centre of Hong Kong. The interior was brutally stripped back to its existing shell to create an aesthetic that would stimulate the senses and resonate with the VAN D philosophy. Materials were edited with a green commitment exposing a rich brick wall. We used recycled Persian textiles, existing concrete, steel, glass and timber. The store features a patchwork of worn Persian rugs. A continuous flow of intertwined lights and looped black electrical cord with drop vintage bulbs hang from the second level leading through the balcony and falling into a waterfall series of bulbs in the shop front window.
