Volcanic natural stone, shimmering blue water and luscious tracts of greenery. Lombok natural treasures have left their mark on Bale Samar Residence. Bale Samar meaning “the kings rock / place of residence” was given to the project fitting for its location and also by local Indonesians. The holiday villa is bespoke in design and reacts to its natural environment and individual land contours, engulfing itself into the lush landscape located in the secluded hills of Jabon, Selong Belanak. This discreet hideaway linked together via white cubes, warm timber decks and shaded by floating flat timbers provides an ideal place of relaxation and enjoyment for the owners. The design concept was inspired by the owners love of minimalism, light and sharp contemporary lines mixed with warm local Indonesian architectural accents.
